Health effects of little cigar and cigarillo use //
This study is designed to test the effects of smoking little cigars and cigarillos, using both brain scans (MRI) and blood tests.
For this study, we are seeking individuals aged 21-65 who smoke little cigars and cigarillos. Participation will take up to five hours and can usually be completed in a single visit to MRN. This is not a smoking cessation study. You do not have to be trying to quit to participate in the study. During the study visit you will answer questions, have some blood drawn, provide a urine specimen, perform some paper and pencil/computer tests, and have a brain scan (MRI). Participants are compensated up to $100 for the time and inconvenience involved with being in the study.
This study does involve in-person visits to our facility. Though safety procedures are put into place, there is still a risk of contracting COVID-19 when humans interact with one another. For this reason, you can choose to revoke your consent to participate in the study without penalty, for any reason, including if you feel unsafe at any time throughout the course of the study.
