Neuromag EEG System //
The Neuromag EEG System is the one supplied with the MEG and the one that has been in use at MRN for the longest time. We currently have caps with 60 channel, 128 channel, and standard clinical 10-20 setups. It can also record up to four bipolar channels such as EKG, vertical eye movement, horizontal eye movement, and mastoids. The Neuromag caps are cloth caps that have electrodes embedded in them.
Advantages to the Neuromag caps:
- Wider range of head sizes accommodated
- Cap doesn't include EOG, so more choices about what arrangement to use
- Smaller cap profile, so can accommodate bigger heads in MEG
- EEG data already integrated with MEG data
Potential drawbacks to Neuromag caps:
- Longer prep time
- More difficult impedance testing method
