Assistant Professor of Translational Neuroscience

Lori Sanfratello, PhD

Dr. Sanfratello uses and develops novel analysis methods for multimodal (fMRI, MEG, DTI) neuroimaging data in order to investigate mental disorders.  Of recent interest has been using MEG resting state data, whose temporal resolution is on the order of neuronal firing rates, to determine aberrant functional connectivity among brain networks in schizophrenia, and correlating these dysfunctions with symptomatology.  Dr. Sanfratello's academic background includes a PhD in physics with a focus on using and developing novel magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques to investigate the complexity of granular material.  A postdoctoral position with a focus on neuroimaging followed, where she acquired expertise in the magnetoencephalographic (MEG) neuroimaging technique.
